I have been working as a General Contractor for well over 25 years and what brought me to the industry and what I enjoy the most is creating new spaces from conception to completion.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I like to meet in person and discuss and listen to their needs and goals for their remodel.
Once we establish goals, we create a budget and identify design elements to stay within the budget.
I produce an itemized bid for my clients that we go through together line by line.
Communication is key. I spend a lot of time with my clients as I execute their project from conception to completion.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have owned my own company for over 20 years and learned the business from the ground up. I take advantage of continuing education to keep up wiht current trends and style and have an excellent team of professionals that work for me.

Each project is individual. Anyone that quotes a remodel project over the phone or computer is simply guessing.
How did you get started in this business?
I was hired as a teenager to work for my friends father. I continued to work through highschool and college... eventually opening my own company.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with busy professionals as well as out of town clients (live elswhere while I am handling the renovations). Most of my clients range in age between 40-65, but of course we are open to all clientele.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
We recently renovated a 4000 sq foot West Seattle bluff (view) home, circa 1950. The home was a complete down to the studs remodel, reconfigured roof line and all interior spaces redesigned. A fantastic presence.
I also recently completed a Mercer Island job that was simply interior change out of all doors, floors, trim, cabinets, bathrooms and kitchen, while leaving the layout largely intact because the home already had great flow to it-- and simply needed cosmetic updating. A fantastic renovation of space.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Meet with the Contractor in person, make sure you connect and trust this professional. You will be working closely throughout your project and your homes final product is dependant on this persons qualifications and whether he/she is simply trying to do a quick job and make a buck or if he/she shares a vision to make your home special.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What are your goals you are hoping to accomplish with the remodel?
What is your budget? You need to be upfront about this so that the Contrator can design within your price point.
