Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
For repair quotes we can offer a quote on the spot. For new roofs or re-roofing most of the time we can provide a the same day or the next day.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Multiple training classes for both residential and commercial roofing including Owens Corning, CertainTeed, GAF, HydroStop, Gaco-Firestone, Velux, Gerard and more.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
It is impossible to have a standard pricing when roofing. There are to many variables involved such as shingles versus tile, pitches, height, valleys, number of penetrations, etc.
How did you get started in this business?
I helped a neighbor roof his home way back in 1989. The rest is history.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All types of residential and commercial customers from every walk of life with all kinds of needs.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Since Texas does not license roofing contractors (and believe me I wish they would!) it is best to hire a contractor who is certified with the manufacturer of the shingle you are installing. Further explanation and what to look out for when we meet.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Roofing is a very high turnover industry with most closing their doors in less than 5 years. Has your contractor been in business for 5 years or more and can they prove it? (85% of all roofers go out of business in less than 5 years)
Do they have REAL roofing operations insurance and not just a general liability policy?
Do they reviews going back at least 3-5 years? Any BBB formal compliants (not reviews) on the BBB left unresolved?
These are just a few of the important ones.
