What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
From general to specific.
First an initial meeting to discuss their vision, goals and specific elements...and importantly what their experience has been working with architects, what our process is like, and budget/schedule expectations.
We provide a scope and fee proposal for their review, comment, and approval. Once their is an agreement the following phases are implemented.
Preliminary design: review of clientertainment images of gardens or elements, conceptual design, refined design with estimated cost of contruction.
Permitting: we provide information about required permitting, cost of preparing documents, and the anticipated time required for approval. We track and expedite the project through the permit process.
Bidding and Construction documents: we provide a list of qualified contractors for clients to meet, issue documents for bidding, and assist the clint with contractor selection. Once chosen, we work as a team to make design revisions that result in a final document set that is within the target budget.
Construction administration: we provide leadership to effectively support the client/contractor/consultant team to effectively guide the project to completion.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
University studies: Architecture
University of Washington: Degree in Landscape Architecture
Established a sucessful contracting firm
Certification as a licenced Landscape Architect: 3 years professional experience with licensed Landscape Architects, national examination, participation in continuing educational
Certification for sustainable design expertise with State and municipal agencies.

Fees are based on the needs of the client.
The scope and fees are discussed as part of establishing a mutually agreeable contract.
Full service fees are within proffessional standards of between 10-12% of construction valuation for elements within the scope of work
