Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
At Carpet Zen, we like to visit about each customers needs, offer solutions and then book an agreeable appointment. Customers will receive a text or email confirming the date and time and a reminder the day before the appointment. Once completed with the work, we show the results to the customer and discuss. If the customer later discovers and issue, we will come back and fix it. It is our great desire to build a business based on repeat customers and referrals, thus we do what it takes to satisfy our customers.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have owned several businesses and understand the value of a customer and wowing them with above and beyond level service.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We are competitive in pricing, but not the least expensive. We use top grade solutions and equipment and do need to make a profit. However, we also do our best to keep our overhead down, so we can keep our prices down. Moreover, we have a membership program so that carpet, tile & upholstery cleaning can be a predictable cost and more easily budgeted. To learn more, visit http://www.mycarpetzen.com/membership.
How did you get started in this business?
My wife and I have owned a home health business and a housekeeping business among other pursuits. A few years ago, after moving to Leander, we decided to do something different. I visited with a friend and a relative with a carpet cleaning business, did some research, invested in equipment and here we are after nearly 3 years of success.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We do primarily residential cleanings, but we also provide commercial work. We are also able to clean carpets in any apartment or high rise, because in addition to our truck mounted equipment, we also have mobile cleaning units.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
I love getting to know our customers and community, and providing a great service. We had a customer who had used another service, but was disatisfied with the results. She asked friends for a referral and they recommend us- Carpet Zen. We spent nearly 3 times as long on the job as the previous outfit and charged her less. She has since sent us over 5 referrals. This is how we are building our business and makes us feel good about how we are contributing to our community.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
It is not always best to go with the lowest or the highest quote. Take a look at online reviews, see if the company has any guarantees and check out their website.
You may also want to ask about their cleaning process. We are partial to pre-spraying and steam cleaning, but their are other methods too. You may also ask about the solutions used in the cleaning and the drying time. Your carpets should be dry within hours, not days.
