Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to set up an appointment to meet with the customer and view their proposed project area and ideas. We take notes, obtain blueprints if required, go over how we typically handle things and work up a proposal. Once the proposal is approved, we generate a contract, accept a deposit to get them on our schedule. If we need to assist in advising for purchase of finish products, we do that, and we also let them know when we are close to starting their project so that orders for finish products can be placed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
The husband and wife team have extensive background in home remodeling. The husband was a Navy SeaBee for 6 years and then had a thriving construction business in California prior to meeting his wife and moving to Oregon. The wife was a licensed Realtor for 21 years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
No we do not.
How did you get started in this business?
The husband started working construction right out of High School building custom homes. He then entered the Navy and worked all types of construction jobs prior to starting his own company.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have done small commercial, tenant improvements and remodels for your typical homeowners as well as high end homes. Many additions and an occasional new construction home.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
We were hired by a luxury Real Estate Company to do a total kitchen remodel in their office. They like our work and the way we operate so much, that they had us build new offices on the second floor of the building and call us anytime they need any other work done. They also refer us to clients from time to time. On the residential side of things, we had a couple in a nearby town hire us to gut their kitchen and redo it. The wife was looking on our facebook page and saw a fireplace mantel that we had redone, so she talked her husband into letting us redo that as well. They were very fund people to work with and hope to do more projects for them.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure they communicate with you and check out their licensing.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Materials, whether a project is feasible, time frame, costs, weather and what is expected from each other.
