What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to meet with the customer and give the exterior of your home, church or business a thorough inspection. Our experienced project managers will inspect your roof, gutters, siding and more. If any damages are found that would be considered an insurable loss we will help you through the claims process and meet with your insurance company for you. If no damages are found we will work with you on preparing a qualified bid.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
30 years in the construction & insurance industry working as an insurance adjuster. The owner worked as an adjuster for 13 hurricanes and numerous catastrophes around the USA. Eureka Contracting does not work out of town, all our work is local.
4 years in the US Navy aboard the USS Enterprise CVN65, 4 years in the carpenter apprenticeship to become a Journeyman, some college and lots of education by experience.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We work well within the acceptible standards and pricing for roofing. Not the cheapest, and not the most expensive. If it is an insurance claim we work for what the insurance company pays. Your only out of pocket cost would be your deductible and upgrades.
How did you get started in this business?
I worked with a friend that had a simular business for approximately 6 1/2 years doing the same thing before I started Eureka Contracting, LLC.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Residential homeowners, apartment managers & owners, property managers, realtors & churches and your neighbors.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Follow your instinct. If you gut is telling you no, then listen to it. Lots of roofing contractors in our area. Check them out.
Roofing contractors are always #1 or #2 for the most complaints with the BBB. Check with the BBB, Google the contractor, ask for references, visit jobs they completed or are working on.
Ask for a Certificate of Insurance (COI) and have their agent email it to your agent. Now its a controlled copy. Never never pay for the job before it is completed. Expect to pay 1/2 down, sometimes 1/3 balance upon completion.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Do you have any leaks? Do you have missing shingles? Was there a recent wind or hail storm in your neighborhood? Are your neighbors getting new roofs? Who should you call? That is easy! Call Eureka Contracting at 636-938-ROOF (7663) and we will be there to meet with you within a day.
