I Had attended Seminars with Ryans, Toro, Briggs & Stratton, Kohler, Wisconsin. Tecumseh, Honda. Also studies with Foley- Belsaw with their Small Engine Repair Basic and Advance Course.

Collecting Information, Contact, Model & Serial Nos. of Equipment and Engine, Make , Type of machine. Basic Problem. as No start, Blade Bent etc. Is a must if you want a accurate Estimate.

Taken Course on Small Engine Repair Foley Belsaw 1972 . Also a Motorcycle Repair Course in College Park MD in 1975

Yes, Labor rate $50 Per hour, Other service, Like Mower Blades Sharpening $8 off mower 15 on. Chainsaw blades $7. off & $12 on. The extra charge is for removal and Install, Checking fluides after completeion. A Spring Tune-Up on a Walk Behind Residental Mower 2 to 5 HP is $45.00 to $60.with one repair.Plus Parts. Carb. Cverhaul , Valve Job. Recoil Starter $25.oo plus Parts. Minimal Charge is $35.00 for first 1/2 hour. that 10/15 minute write up and gather information.
How did you get started in this business?
In my early Teens I earned money Mowing Lawn for friends and neighbors. If I was in need of mower repair. I be without my mower for 3 to4 week wait at my local Mower Repair shop. 2 miles away. I had no way to carry it being without a vehicle. I did not Drive at the time being 13 years old. I learned on my own to fix it. In 1963 there was no YOU-tube or Computer at that timefor information. The Repair shop was reluctant for any tips or information. So I just Tinkered with my mower back then.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Over many years I ran into many person. Some nice and some not so Nice. Some with Humor and some not.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Looks can be deceiving. Do not take thing at face value.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Do your Homework & research. When it come to mower and equipment. Please have Model and Serial numbers. Most equipment has 2 manufacture or 3. The overall machine # 1 the mower Is MTD, AYP. sears/craftsman? #2. The Engine Is it a Briggs, Kohler, Tecumseh. Honda ? And if a transmission Maybe a Peerless/Tecumseh/Lauson or other Manufacture. Life of the Mower Equipment, When it comes to Large repairs.
