What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

Consultation $80
Design Proposal (Min. Fee $750) accept or decline

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Terrascapes designers are all certified designers from the Radcliffe/Landscape Institute of BAC or trained landscape architects from an accredited college or university.
The fine gardeners all share a passion for horticulture. Many are Master Gardeners, some are certified horticulturists and others have been gardening for many years and just love plants.

How did you get started in this business?
The owner Susan Opton, career changed in 1999 from her 20 years as a Health Administrator in Los angeles to a Landscape Designer in 2002. She started her education in landscape architecture at UCLA and finished her education at the Boston Radcliffe Seminars program in landscape design. After 10 years running a landscape design and installation firm she added organic fine gardening services for her clients who wanted to maintain their design installations with high quality of care.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Terrascapes clients range from container design clients to large residential properties needing large master plans.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
We love all our clients. We've designed basketball courts, railings, patios, walkways, planting beds, small doggie gardens, low maintenance water wise town areas. You name it, we love to design it.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
It is very important to ask the question "How do I want to use this space?" Start there and then look for the answers from your professionals as to how you can resolve the issues and challenges that are preventing you from enjoying the space the way you want to.
