What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After an initial interview by phone or email we set up an introductory meeting to review the overall scope of work. Expectations, design, style, finishes and budget are discussed at this time along with options. A preliminary estimate would then be prepared and reviewed for a follow-up appt.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are multigenerational builders with over 60 years combined experience in land development, new single & multi family construction, home additions, home renovations and remodeling. We use highly trained employees and licensed subcontractors who are up to date with current trends and municipal codes. We also offer design consultant plus architectural services.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We prepare detailed bid notes after initial consultation with customers and forward to respective subcontractors/vendors with drawings and/or architectural plans (if required). Pricing is broken down into individual line items and material allowances are identified. An initial preliminary estimate (with options) is submitted for review. Subsequent pricing adjustments to the scope of work are documented on future estimates in order to keep track of changes/modifications.
How did you get started in this business?
We both grew up in the business. Dan is a 3rd generation home builder and Jim is a licensed tradesman/businessman who has been involved in residential construction his entire life.

Custom and semi-custom new homes buyers.
Owners & property managers of existing homes for additions, remodeling and/or renovations.

Describe a recent project you are fond of.
We recently completed a whole house renovation that included new cabinets, countertops, appliances, lights fixtures, plumbing fixtures, flooring, reconfigured master bath, finished basement plus painting throughout. Customer was very pleased with the help of our design consultant who chose from some of today's latest products and trends at a very affordable price.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Do a lot of research plus look for testimonials.
Request referrals of past customers.
Make sure you are comfortable with the personality of the pro you hire.
Get all pricing in writing with as much detail as possible.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Think about scope of work and overall budget.
Be flexible about the overall concept which may change due to cost concerns.
Always think of resale value compared to cost of improvements.
