First off when a new client contacts us we get they're information so that we can better serve them . Once that is out of the way one of our office staff will ask them a few basic questions to get the right person assigned to them , then lastly a date and time will be set for a consultation. A reminder email will be sent to the client with the name and photo of the ARS rep that is coming to meet them . We give 1 hour Windows, Atlanta traffic makes exact time appointments nearly impossible, but we do meet the 1 hour window 99% of the time . Once we get to the clients home we introduce ourselves then ask about the roof (where is the leak , etc). We do several things while there to diagnose the roof problems then proceed to give our assessment and recommendations. Many times we can repair a roof, when we can't due to age we can usually get it covered through insurance. After we decide on a course of action the ARS rep will take charge and begin the process of getting your roof solution underway .
With Roofing the best training anyone can have is actual experience. The owner of ARS has 40 years of experience, is a licensed public adjuster , and has a masters degree in engineering. Our General Manager has basically grown up in the business and done every job from picking up shingles , installing new roofs , repairs , to management and sales . He has been in this business working one job or another for 19 years . He also takes on going classes with GAF, Xactimate, HAAG, and many other courses offered through our Material Providers . Our finance manager has a degree from UGA in finance . Our 2 repair technicians have 75 years of combined experience, and our sales people are all former roofers that have learned this business over years and years of real world experience. With Roof replacements and repairs there
are variables that effect pricing , for example pitch , heigh , type of Material , complexity, and Time. We have basic pricing for simple tasks , and use an estimation software called Xactimate to calculate the price for the majority of jobs . Xactimate updated its pricing in each zip code every 30 days based on material and labor cost changes in the market . We use they're pricing a a starting point and often discount they're prices in order to be more competitive. One thing we do not do is give pricing that changes . Our bids are fixed (tax , material, labor and disposal ) , and your bill at the end is always the same as your quote at the beginning unless you choose to add additional work .
The owner of ARS roofed his way through college , then moved from Iowa to Atlanta to take a job in the engineering field . After some time (2-3yrs) of working in the corporate world he realized he wanted more out of life , more time with family , and more fulfillment out of the work he did each day . While working those 2-3 years he also hadn't part time roofing job with one of the best companies in Atlanta at the time, so his knowledge of the industry was still on the rise. He eventually decided to start his own company , and after a few years of doing both jobs he was able to retire from the corporate world and put all of his effort into Accent Roofing Service. That was in 1989 , and we haven't looked back since .
