Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
After a customer signs a contract, our goal is to make a roof restoration as simple as possible for the owner. We communicate with the insurance company, explain the payouts from insurance for the entire project, and stay in constant communication on the project. Key steps are material delivery, crew start date, and completion and clean up date. We also make sure to communicate how to protect other property such as vehicles and outdoor furniture during the construction process.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have had multiple people go through Certainteed, Tamko and Owen's Corning installation training
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
For insurance claims we guarantee to do the work for no more than the estimate provided by insurance, once we finish ensuring it is correct. For non-insurance projects we price at a per square (100 SF) price, depending on material.
How did you get started in this business?
After 3 losses from storms years ago, I decided that I could bring a level of professionalism from the corporate life into the Restoration business to help ease owner's minds during the process.
What types of customers have you worked with?
80% of our business is with residential home owners, replacing their damaged or end-of-life roofs with current materials and standards/codes.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Worked with a couple that was out of town but needed their roof replaced and was very worried about quality of workmanship and being taken advantage of. We worked hard to put their minds at ease by providing quality referrals from owners that were glad to discuss our professionalism, and came up with the idea of having their neighbor take pictures every couple of hours, providing a sense of additional oversight, and proof points of proper installation. Now they take reference calls for us.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
There are a lot of roofers. Check how long ownership has lived in area, how long in business, and check references. Make the calls.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Timing, budget, proof of references.
