We are a small family owned business trying to live the American dream. I have been doing construction work since I was 16 years old, but actually started at a very early age working side by side with my father and grandfather. They taught me everything I know and now I am putting all of their knowledge and my skills to work building a company and name for myself and my family. I have two sons of my own now and hope to one day hand the business off to them. MJs Home Solutions isn't just a business it's a FAMILY trade. I really like to work with my hands and interact with all the different people i get to meet along the way. On top of all that. Just been able to work with the best people i have ever met. Mybguys and i take alot of pride in what we do as a TEAM. And when one of us is off the rest of the TEAM picks up the slack. Together we can do just about anything.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First contact is usually by phone or email. After the first contact we will come to the site and do a walk through and take any measurements that need to be done and give a free estimate. Then a proposal will be written up and if the customer agrees that will be signed and a final sales order will be written up and signed as well. We will pick up and haul materials for customers but typically we will have rhe customer purchase their own materials.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked with my family since I was 16 years old learning all sorts of trades, everything from concrete to plumbing, to flooring and everything in between. I also went to trade school in charleston w.va. I have taken HVAC courses, weldings course, I also have a 30 OSHA card.
How did you get started in this business?
From my father and grandfather, they had their own business doing just concrete. Mine on the other hand is doing everything from Concrete to Drywall and everything in between. I have a lot of knowledge and skills that people need so with my wife behind the scenes we decided to take the leap and make our own little family ran business!
What types of customers have you worked with?
I worked with just about everyone, all ages, and projects. People needing fencing, subfloors, hardwood floors, plumbing, concrete removed, driveways replaced, deck. Stripped and piwer washed, paiinting, drywall. We will work for anyone needing our assistance!
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Connecting with a customer who cared enough to check on my wife after she had surgery. Shows how we connect with our customers and treat them like our family.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Do your research and shop around. Give rhe small guys a chance! And look at the pros profile's. Because that will tell the real story. And work of all the different pro's.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Well if it was me i would ask if they where insured and licensed. And how long they have been doing the kind of work you're inquiring about. And after they give there pro's that I would ask how they come up with that figure.
Also i would ask about how they plan to do when they start the job. As the same question about when they finnish the job what it will look like.
