With Seattle Green Cleaner, you can manage the easy stuff from your computer, then sit back and enjoy your fabulously cleaned home! From getting a cleaning estimate, to scheduling your appointment, to paying for our service, safely storing customer keys, getting appointment reminders, to providing feedback…the whole process is seamless.

• You can get an Instant Estimate via pdf to your email using our unique quote form.
• Your appointments are scheduled for specific times with only a 15-minute arrival window. If your appointment is at 9:00 am, cleaners will be there between 8:45 and 9:15.
• You will receive an automatic appointment reminder via email 24 hours before your appointment and an SMS reminder 1 hour before your appointment.
• Once we’ve established how long ongoing service will take, your credit card will be automatically charged on your cleaning day (recurring service only).
• You can see upcoming appointment dates and times as well as past invoices online 24/7 in the Client Hub.

Green cleaning rates/services

We charge for actual cleaning time; not the estimated or scheduled time, rounded up to the nearest 5 minutes per cleaner and to the nearest whole dollar amount.

Our estimates are based on Total Cleaning Hours. The cost is the same regardless of the number of cleaners; Only the duration changes based on the number of cleaners on the team.

For example, Six total cleaning hours:

• One Cleaner = 6 hours
• Two Cleaners = 3 hours per cleaner
• Three Cleaners = 2 hours per cleaner

The exact price to clean your home is based on many factors: size of home, room sizes, surfaces, cleaning frequency, level of upkeep between appointments, number of pets, and the different levels of clutter. Your personalized cleaning estimate will break down the cost of cleaning each area so you can see exactly how the estimate was calculated.

Initial Cleaning and Recurring Service

• $65 per hour, Monday-Friday.
• We charge a higher rate for weekend service.
• 3-hour minimum charge.
• The first visit will take longer than others but every cleaning we do is a deep cleaning.
• Our policy is to clean the entire home at the initial cleaning (or at a minimum, the main level of the home, ex: first floor).
• $65.00 Trip Fee for travel outside the city limits of Seattle unless a neighboring appointment can be scheduled on the same day, based on our availability.

Jen started Seattle Green Cleaner in 2007.

She was looking for an environmentally friendly cleaning company to clean her own home. There were only a handful in Seattle at the time. She called each one and asked what she thought were basic questions that any green company should know. From asking about the products and supplies used, which kind of companies the owner supported, were their products easily biodegradable, were they tested on animals, how much were they responsible for putting in a landfill, etc. Not a single company could answer with confidence.

Jen realized there must be other people like her in the Puget Sound and especially in the Emerald City. She built a website, got a business license, cleaned friends' homes for free in exchange for honest feedback, critiques, and even asked "which kinds of things make you uncomfortable about having a service provider in your home." Within two weeks she was booked to capacity and within a year hired her first employee. Now, 13 years later, we've earned several awards and have consistently maintained an A+ rating with the Better Business Bureau, Angie's List and others.

We've worked with every kind of customer; from neat-freaks to hoarders and everyone in between. We aren't in business to judge people. We're in business to make other people's lives easier and to do it all with excellent customer service, absolute environmental responsibilty, and holding true to our ethics each step of the way. 

Ask queations about their ethics:

If they claim to be eco-friendly

- Do they use anything disposable (paper towels, disinfecting wipes, etc.)?

- How do they purchase cleaning products? Is it in bulk with fewer deliveries or are they running out to buy a couple of bottles at a time?

- Are their products truly eco-friendly? Are they easily biodegradable, are they phosphate-free, were they tested on animals, do they contain animal ingredients, do they use the environmentally destructive palm oil? What happens if a toddler or a dog ingests their products? 

- Are their quotes online or do they run around from home to home giving estimates?

Ask about their methods:

- Is every cleaning a deep cleaning or do they only do a deep cleaning the first time and then do "maintenance appointments"?

- Do they wet dust every single surface or are they just moving dust around and putting in the air by dry dusting?

- Do they use vacuum cleaners on ALL floors or do they use a broom which just puts more dust and allergens in the air?

Ask to see their Service Agreement and ask if they have a Satisfaction Guarantee.

Are you looking for someone to thoroughly clean your home (House Cleaner) or are you looking for someone to tidy up, wash dishes, and do a little light cleaning (House Keeper)? 

Are your expections realistic?

We'd all love to pay for only one hour of service, but is that realistic? How long would it take you to clean every single area of your home from the ceiling to the baseboards and every space in between? Would it take a whole day? As professionals, we have all the necessary equipment, supplies, and products and we know how to move quickly and efficiently. We are usually quite fast, but no one, not a single Human, can do a completely thorough top-to-bottom job of quality cleaning in an hour.
