About
Hazel Point Company was started with the idea that a remodel is not judged only by the quality of the end product.
The process of construction must be enjoyable for the client and in the words of our past customers, "FUN & EXCITING!"
Enjoying the construction process involves the following:
Trust: Being able to trust that your money is being spent wisely and in accordance with your wishes (budget).
Quality: Knowing that all of the work you are paying for is high quality work.
Predictability: The only surprises you get are good ones.
Value: At the end of the project you are truly delighted with the results (cost, quality, process)
Remodeling enhances peoples's lives. Being able to be part of making a person or familiy's life better via a remodel is very fullfilling!

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First, meet the customer and listen to their wishes and desires and see if I am able to assist them.
Next, determine what plans and drawings are needed. If the customer needs a designer I put them in touch with a designer.
Once we have plans and drawings I estimate the project.
Then if value engineering is needed to meet a budget I do that.
Agree on contract terms and then start construction.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have a degree in project management and I have 25 years experience in remodeling, 16 of which I have owned Hazel Point Company.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Once I have done an extensive estimate which meets the customer's budget, I do the work on a time and materials basis.
How did you get started in this business?
I starting out digging ditches and worked my way up to running residential remodels and then started my own company.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work for people that want to enhace their lives via remodeling their house and want to enjoy it for many years.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
A couple that had 2 small children wanted to turn their unfinished basement into a master suite and media room because the main floor of their house was just too small for their growing family. I did the remodel and they are now enjoying having more space and anticipating their house being the place where their childrens' friends hang out.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Check references and go see a completed remodle that is a number of years old that the contractor had done. This gives you the opportunity to see how their work endures over time. And visit a couple of their recently competed projects and ask the owners about how the remodel went.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What is most important, schedule, budget, or quality, or a combination of those? And then ask the contractor how they would accomplish those for you.
