Our Story- A great story it is!
Roger had always been involved in things outdoors whether a building project, landscape project, or vegetable garden. Along the way he worked for Busch Gardens Williamsburg in both the entertainment and landscape divisions. He started a successful "part time" lawn maintenance company in 1989 while teaching in the Virginia Beach public schools. After 13 years of teaching and ministry Roger found himself at a cross roads. His position was being eliminated, he had accumulated a lot of experience in landscaping and other outdoor trades, and had 6 children and a wife to provide for. It was time to take the plunge..... on Laborday 2003 Solid Rock Lawn & Landscape, LLC was established. Our business name is a constant reminder of our true employer - Jesus Christ-- the Solid Rock. Our company verse is Colossians 3:23-- "whatever you do, do it with all your heart as if for the Lord and not for man". By God's grace we are 10 over years old and growing strong.
