Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
First we offer a brief consultation over the phone to determine if your issue is something we can assist with. Then we determine your budget. Then you can either book online, by phone, or through our website. We typically have a 24 hour turn around time - sometimes even same day services are available depending on the job. We also offer after hour services for a double rate. We also operate as a nonprofit organization and are willing to offer a sliding pay scale to certain customers.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We have organization members that graduated from Blinn College, The Insitiute of Robotics, American Academy of Sleep Medicine, My Comptuer Career Houston, & Texas A&M University.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Inital basic consulations are free of charge. We have standard rates of $85 for a complete diagnosis on MAC/PC computers & laptops. We have an hourly rate of $100 an hour for local repair in the shop (most jobs only require an hour of time) then a $150 an hour rate for mobile repairs at your business or home (again, most jobs are usually completing in an hour.) The hour ends when the job is completed - additonal tasks cost additonal money. More advanced services - such as data recovery, microsoldering, and ethical hacking start at $150. We also offer a sliding pay scale if you can proof lack of funds or financial hardships. Certain cases all charges will be waived - as we are a nonprofit organization.
How did you get started in this business?
We started in 2013 in Bryan/College Station, Texas. We swithced over from Sleep Medicine - to computer science. As we were starting to miss the sun working in sleep medicine. We've always been compassionate about computer science and strive to have the most professional mom and pop style shop & mobile repair services.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All types. From the rich to the poor. We work in doctor's offices, lawyer office's, to homless shelters, client's homes, etc.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Lately we were able to receive some laptop donations and refurbish them. Once refurbishment was completed - the laptop were donated to a few gentleman at one of the homeless shelters here. We loaded it up with Open Office, Windows 10, and various software to give him a better chance of sucess. We even loaded up some music software for recording beats as some of them were passionate about making music.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
To pick someone knowledgable, patient, and compassionate like us. We will help break thinks down to laymens terms and gently guide you into better understanding the technology. We will even help offer tips and tricks to make sure you don't need us as much in the future. Where as some companies don't care to add prevenitive meaures to your machines. They rather them continue to break down and/or get infected - leading you to need their services again in the future.
