I usually go with a daily rate on most things, but also price by the job just depending on the circumstances.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Good work isn't cheap and cheap work isn't good.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Ask to see photos of the work that they do. Do a little bit of research so that you are familiar with what you are having done. And check out what your contractor tells you, don't just assume that they are always honest. Do your due diligence.
