What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I don't have any necessary education for yard work but I have been cutting since an adolescent. During the year 2018-2019 I've worked with another landscaping company before I branched out on my own.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Standard yard prices start at $35 but I know that all yards aren't the same and some are smaller or bigger than others. I would like to physically see the property before giving a final number. Hedges are $15. Mulch beds and Flower beds start at $80 for labor, anything extra is for material. Tree trimming is based on everything a customer wants removed.
How did you get started in this business?
As a kid I've always wanted find ways to make money. Cutting grass and washing cars were the easiest thing for me to do years ago. As I've grown older wanting to be my own boss would be like I wanted to walk down. Instead of picking up a new trade I decided to perfect what I was already good at. Working with the landscaping company before I learned the ins and outs of the business in hopes of doing it on my own. This way I still get to help people and not have to worry about a time clock.
What types of customers have you worked with?
The customers I work with are very friendly. Most up in age and others not much older than I am. I've had some customers who seem to be grouchy and stern and I've had customers who are respectful. All customers are treated equally.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Helping my neighbor with her garden has to be my fondest event. Be able to interact and do things to her pleasing, put a smile on my face. We completely redid her flower bed, planted Japanese box bushes and extended her mulch bed.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I'd tell a customer to be patient and understanding With us. A lot of times there may be a lack of understanding on either end and getting that common ground is what would make it easier for the both of us.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
A couple questions would be;
