Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Working with a new client involves first determining that our services are a good match for their needs- that we can provide positive results for them. I have many past successs within a diverse range of projects. Often, we might have a new client that wants to roll many tasks into one project such as install an updated light fixture (electric) in their living area, repair garbage disposal (plumbing) in kitchen, add a new a color in their bedroom (painting) that needs a desk put together (furniture assembly) for their study- all noteworthy tasks that we can certainly deliver with confidence but also less refined than say a customer who wants to remodel or expand. In other words, we are quick to deliver on our strengths and wise enough to accept our limitations. We strive to act in our customer's best interest in order to meet their goals and intended outcome. This ensures our desired goal- Customer Satisfaction!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Taskmaster with many years of both professional and personal experience in home improvement repairs and installation.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Fair and reasonable, a price that is agreed upon.
How did you get started in this business?
I started doing home improvement projects as a child, helping my parents. Then, as a side gig to my corporate job, I worked for a friend/associate who 'flips' homes.
What types of customers have you worked with?
My primary book of business are customers with one-half to 3 day projects who have a task they have determined they are not going to do on their own.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
Spending time with my daughter.
Professionally speaking, I recently enjoyed sharing a customer's relief. She had me install security cameras on her property a few weeks ago and just a few days ago called to thank me and tell me that the person who was stalking her was finally arrested because she had proof.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Stay the course. To have tasks well-defined that they want to accomplish. As a Handyman (jack-of-all trades) I often hear, "oh, while you're here, can you..' or 'well I'm not sure what I want to do with it'.
Those types of projects usually lead to less favorable results.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What are my goals?
What is my budget?
What are my options?
