Melindas Faux Effects and Innovative Finishes are owned and operated by myself. We have been in business for 29 years. We do specialty painting commercially and residential. Among our finishes we do murals, stained concrete faux finishes, and accoustical wall coverings to absosrb sound, bring an awesome natural green product for media rooms, conference rooms, ect. Decorative with all the sparkle and bling you could want or just a simple satin sheen. We travel all over.
I have been doing faux finishes over 18 years, stained concrete over 11 years, and murals 29 years.

What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Usually have a meeting at the jobsite, give some suggestions if customer is unsure exactly what they want. Helpt design color and style all along the job process. Try to get picture in my mind of what they like and are trying to accomplish.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have taken several classes for faux finishes, decorative concrete and specialty work
How did you get started in this business?
I actuallly started murals by painting my childrens rooms. I took art in school, but did nothing with it until I had children. Found out I love painting murals and it went from there.
I then incorporated faux and stone work with my murals, then expanded to decorative concrete.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Businesses, Business owners, residential customers. Have done commercial floors, walls, ceilings.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
I enjoy doing tuscan walls where brick or stone break through the walls, old crusty walls, broken down columns, or scenes beyond windows that are realistic stone.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
The process of decorative painting, usually cause a domino effect. Once you start on a wall, it builds from room to room, so go into it with open mind of making style flow throughout the home or office.
