What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I offer free estimates. After visiting the job site I will provide the proposal and, if the customer accepts, I will reserve a start date with an initial deposit depending on the size of the job. Then the day we begin we get 60% deposit to be used for the materials needed and the balance on satisfactory completion. Progress payments weekly are sometimes required if the job takes more than one week.

College graduate. Numerous construction classes.

I've been buying/rehabbing/selling real estate since 1986.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Get 3 quotes at least!
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Time frame in which they want the project started and the ability to work with the contractor while the work is underway.
