Eugene H. says, "Forewarning Im not the best at typing so please excuse any spelling or grammatical errors! Owner Justin was great!I have become quite the skeptic because customer service and quality just isn't like it was 20, 30, 40 year back. But I chose this contractor cause His initial email stood out and was very informative, professinal, and well spoken. And very fast response time. He cold sense my skepticism so he provided us with an abundance of credentials from electrical, property management and construction design license and certifications, several awards hes achieved, copy of insurance, simple but effective contract and references, receipts, the whole nine. Communication is huge to me and he was very attentive, knowledgeable, listens very well, and made sure to deliver exactly what i requested. My only complaint for giving- 4 stars- wasnt directed towards Justin. It was cause a guy working for him was on his phone a lot when Justin wasnt looking but I made justin aware of this and he dealt with the issue immediately and we had no more issues. Would definitely recommmend his services. Im glad to provide reference and any questions (937)583-3100 " Read more

Jordan G. says, "ARRK handyman Service was hired by my company to put a 150ft wood fence in the backyard of our rental property with two gates in order to create privacy from the railroad tracks directly behind the property. Russell and his crew showed up ready to work in the middle of a snow storm when they live an hour and a half away. They had to cut down gigantic tree in order to install the fence on very uneven ground. The final product turned out beautifully! He did a wonderful job in regards to the work. However, I had to subtract one star for poor communication and follow thru. I had asked Russell to complete the project within a 3 day time span and to also stay in contact with me every morning with updates. The project ended up taking a full 2 weeks to complete and I was only contact one time with an update. He also put the front gate in an awkward spot, not where I had planned for it to go. In the end, The quality of work was so stunning that some of these other issues fell to the wayside. We would most definitely work with Russell and Arrk Handyman Services again!" Read more

Your Quartzite Countertop Installers questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on HomeGuide.

How much do quartzite countertops cost?

Quartzite countertops cost $65 to $150 per square foot installed. A typical 30 to 40 square foot installation costs $2,000 to $6,000 on average. Quartzite prices vary depending on several factors include the type of quartzite, thickness of the slab, the finish selected, and any custom edge profiles or cutouts.

White quartzite counters tend to be the cheapest, averaging $65 to $85 per square foot. Gray quartzite colors range from $75 to $95 per square foot, while exotic quartzite colors in blue, red, pink, orange, green, or yellow can cost from $100 to $200 per square foot.

What is quartzite?

Quartzite is a natural stone that forms when sandstone is exposed to heat and pressure, causing the quartz grains to fuse together. The result is an incredibly hard, durable stone that looks similar to marble or granite.

Quartzite countertops offer unique, natural patterns and colors, while also being very resilient. They are more scratch-resistant than marble and withstand impacts quite well. Quartzite remains neutral in temperature and doesn’t require sealants like some stone.

What is the cheapest quartzite countertop?

It's challenging to pinpoint the absolute cheapest quartzite countertop because prices can vary significantly. The cost of quartzite countertops can vary based on factors such as the type of quartzite, its origin, quality, and any additional features or services. However, you can explore less expensive options by considering locally sourced or more readily available quartzite varieties.

The most affordable quartzite slabs tend to be thinner to help reduce cost. Many homeowners find success finding discounted remnant quartzite pieces for small countertop surfaces that don’t require large slabs.

What is the most expensive quartzite slab?

Determining the "most expensive" quartzite slab can be challenging as prices can vary based on factors such as rarity, quality, origin, and the supplier's pricing structure. Additionally, market conditions and availability play significant roles in pricing.

Exotic or rare varieties of quartzite, especially those with unique colors, patterns, or high demand, tend to command higher prices. Some quartzite slabs may be considered more exclusive or luxurious, contributing to their higher cost. To find the most expensive quartzite slabs, you may need to explore specialty suppliers or those offering rare and premium selections.

Is quartzite easy to care for and maintain?

Quartzite is a natural stone and requires proper care and maintenance to preserve its appearance and longevity. Quartzite is porous, and sealing is recommended to prevent stains. The frequency of sealing depends on the specific type of quartzite and the level of use.

Wipe up spills promptly to prevent stains and use a pH-balanced, non-abrasive cleaner specifically designed for natural stone surfaces. Avoid harsh or acidic cleaners, as they can damage the stone over time.

What questions should I ask a quartzite counter installer?

Consider asking these questions when meeting with quartzite counter installers:

  • How extensive is your experience in the installation of quartzite countertops?
  • Can you furnish references from previous clients or provide a portfolio of your past projects?
  • Do you possess the requisite licenses and insurance for this project, and may I have copies?
  • What services are included with your estimate, such as demolition, plumbing, and electrical work?
  • What warranty do you provide for the installation?
  • Are there any warranties offered for the countertop material itself?
  • What is the estimated cost of the project for both materials and labor?
  • Is there a specified payment schedule?
  • How do you handle unforeseen delays or changes to the project?
  • Do you present a range of materials for selection?
  • Could you explain the advantages and disadvantages of my selected quartzite?
  • What is your process for measurement and template creation for the countertops?
  • Who will be responsible for fabricating the countertops?
  • How do you ensure the protection of existing flooring and cabinets during installation?
  • What is the anticipated duration of the installation process?
  • What care and maintenance practices should be followed for the new countertops?
