Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I explain to them exactly what I am going to do. Letting them know that if there is something that they didnt like to be there to fix it for them. Letting them know that I am going to give them the best estimate I can and to give them quaility craftsmanship work.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I went to vo-tech and graduated 4 years. Started my on business in 1979.
How did you get started in this business?
Went to Brownstown Vo-Tech School for 4 years for Painting and Decorating.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I would have to be honest I have worked with them all from being, Cheap, wanting a fast job done, (Which I do not like), just throw paint on windows so that the inspector dont give them a fine ( I dont even do a job that way), professional, Doctors, Lawyers, Realtors, Flippers, and just your happy go lucky customers.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
I really dont have one because I like them all. When I get there and what it looks like I no I made a 110% difference in the home or property I just got done doing.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure you have everything written down on paper on exactly what they are going to do, get references if you can, never apy any contractor the full price of a job before they start the job, usally a contractor would want 50% up front for security, but I only get a third, and than another third when half of the work is done and the last third when the job is completed. Knowing the paint they are going to be using on your project, that it is a good quality paint like Benjamin Moore, Behr, Valspar, Pittsburgh, etc.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Do you really need it painted? (Some customers just want things painted just to make it more cleaner and it really doesnt need painted) Can they afford to get the painting done.
