What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We like to meet with our new customer as soon as possible, make a great first impression, discuss the potential project at hand, and then explain our companies process and policies.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I, Joe Jansen, began working in this industry as just a teenager. After almost ten years of learning every aspect hands-on, I decided to start my own company. And now today, after 35 plus years with my own company, my crew and I combined have created a wealth of knowledge that we love to pass along to every customer.
How did you get started in this business?
I got my start in the landscaping industry with my families business at the age of 13. I have been the proud owner of J. Jansen Landscaping LLC for over 35 years and counting.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We work with all customers. (Residential and/or Businesses)
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
One of our favorite jobs is when we annually freshen up Triangle Park in Rutledge, PA for the spring season. We are hired to clean up the park's gardens, trees, and playground areas. We create fresh edges for the gardens, add flowers and mulch. Re-grade the playground, create new edges and add fresh playground mulch. And prune any trees with dangerous limbs looming. It feels good to clean up our community for the kids and neighbors. The project took us two days.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
I would recommend meeting the prospective provider on the sight and in person. This will help determine an accurate understanding of every detail for the estimate. It also will help you gain a first impression to determine if you want to begin a business relationship with the provider.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Customers should have an idea of the budget and time frame of completion that they have in mind for their project. Also, keep in mind to mention if this will be a recurring service for you because it could help get a discounted quote.
