What is your typical process for working with a new customer?

After a phone call from the client I return the call ASAP. Set an appointment to visit the home or job site. Talk  to the customer to see exactly what they would like to have. Take measurements on job pictures and whatever else is relevant to the job. Write up an estimate and return it within a day via email. At which time I make myself available for any questions or concerns from the customer.

What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?

I have 30+ years experience in the landscaping field, I am ICPI NCMA, and I I am certified by Firestone for pond liners.

How did you get started in this business?

As a young man I was given the opportunity to work with an exceptional person in the landscaping field. He taught me a lot and inspired me to become a landscaper. I have an associates degree in accounting but I love being outside even more.

What types of customers have you worked with?

I have worked with mainly residential clients but I have also done commercial work.

Describe a recent project you are fond of.

I had  completed a beautiful retaining wall ranging between six and 9 feet tall for about 100 foot long. Very gratifying.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?

I would tell the client to make sure that you get a couple estimates. Also make sure that whomever you are dealing with has good references is insured and cares about what he does. Also make sure they offer a warranty and have been in business for more than five years.

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

The customer has many resources available to educate themselves about their project.  Make sure when the contractor is describing the scope of the work that it matches up to what they have found on the Internet.
