Eugene H. says, "Forewarning Im not the best at typing so please excuse any spelling or grammatical errors! Owner Justin was great!I have become quite the skeptic because customer service and quality just isn't like it was 20, 30, 40 year back. But I chose this contractor cause His initial email stood out and was very informative, professinal, and well spoken. And very fast response time. He cold sense my skepticism so he provided us with an abundance of credentials from electrical, property management and construction design license and certifications, several awards hes achieved, copy of insurance, simple but effective contract and references, receipts, the whole nine. Communication is huge to me and he was very attentive, knowledgeable, listens very well, and made sure to deliver exactly what i requested. My only complaint for giving- 4 stars- wasnt directed towards Justin. It was cause a guy working for him was on his phone a lot when Justin wasnt looking but I made justin aware of this and he dealt with the issue immediately and we had no more issues. Would definitely recommmend his services. Im glad to provide reference and any questions (937)583-3100 " Read more

Tori L. says, " Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Responsiveness, Value Fernando came to look at two toilets that needed attention. He took the time to go over the issues and give me every possible option for repairs or replacements. I appreciate his honesty, time, and professionalism. We have decided to have a replacement installed and have scheduled the appointment and requested Fernando to be our technician. Update: We had a new toilet installed by Fernando and we are very pleased. Just as before, Fernando was professional, honest, and did excellent work. The replacement of the toilet was done quickly and efficiently and he took the time to answer all of my questions. I highly recommend Queen City Plumbing and Fernando in particular. Jordan G. says, "ARRK handyman Service was hired by my company to put a 150ft wood fence in the backyard of our rental property with two gates in order to create privacy from the railroad tracks directly behind the property. Russell and his crew showed up ready to work in the middle of a snow storm when they live an hour and a half away. They had to cut down gigantic tree in order to install the fence on very uneven ground. The final product turned out beautifully! He did a wonderful job in regards to the work. However, I had to subtract one star for poor communication and follow thru. I had asked Russell to complete the project within a 3 day time span and to also stay in contact with me every morning with updates. The project ended up taking a full 2 weeks to complete and I was only contact one time with an update. He also put the front gate in an awkward spot, not where I had planned for it to go. In the end, The quality of work was so stunning that some of these other issues fell to the wayside. We would most definitely work with Russell and Arrk Handyman Services again!" Read more

Your Plumbing questions, answered

Answers to commonly asked questions from the experts on HomeGuide.

How much does a plumber near me cost?

Plumbers charge $45 to $150 per hour, with the average job costing $125 to $450 total. Many plumbing companies have a minimum service fee of $50 to $200. Emergency plumbing contractors charge double or triple time on weekends, after hours, and holidays, or $125 to $170 per hour.

Outdoor plumbing jobs vary in cost and are sometimes flat-rate fees. Replacing a hose bib costs $150 to $350. Replacing an outdoor spigot costs $150 to $450.

What are common plumbing services?

Professional plumbers repair pipes, tanks, fixtures, fittings, and pumps required for the gas and water to flow through your home. Whatever the plumbing issue, plumbers near you are ready to help.

Call a plumber for:

  • Leaky faucets
  • Clogged drains and drain cleaning
  • Burst pipes
  • Flooding, an overflowing toilet, or sewer backup
  • Installing fixtures like sinks, bathtubs, and toilets
  • Repairing gas or water lines.
  • Low water pressure
  • Broken hot water heater or garbage disposal
  • Plumbing inspection

If you are unsure of the problem, schedule a plumbing inspection.

How much to tip a plumber?

Professional plumbers do not expect a tip. However, if they go out of their way to help or spend more time than expected, a tip is appreciated.

What to do when a plumbing pipe bursts?

If a pipe bursts in your house, follow these steps:

  1. Turn off the main water supply to reduce water damage.
  2. Turn off the electricity in that part of the home for safety.
  3. Clean up and drain the water to avoid excess water damage.
  4. Search for qualified plumbers near you and get free estimates.
  5. Drain the remaining water from the faucets to take pressure off the pipes.

Does a home warranty cover plumbing?

A home warranty covers normal wear and tear on plumbing work. Home warranties typically cover all plumbing systems such as broken sinks, faucets, showerheads, toilets, built-in bathtub motors, sewer pumps, valves, clogged drains, and leaky pipes.

Does homeowners insurance cover plumbing?

Homeowner's insurance policies should cover sudden water damage due to faulty plumbing or pipes that burst. However, most policies exclude old or leaky pipes, damage that occurred gradually like a slow leak, or regional flooding.

What questions to ask when hiring a local plumber?

The best plumbing contractors are licensed, bonded, insured, and are happy to answer questions about their business. Before hiring a plumber, ask the following questions:

  • Do you offer free estimates? If not, do you charge a minimum service fee to evaluate my project?
  • Do you charge by the hour or by the project?
  • How long have you been in business?
  • Do you have worker's comp insurance?
  • Is your plumbing work bonded?
  • Are your license and insurance up to date? May I see them?
  • Do you offer a warranty on your labor? Do the products you use have warranties?
  • Can I get a written estimate or contract with a full breakdown of all costs involved?

Very nice, quick to respond to messages, went the extra mile by taking my yard waste to the dump because Rumpke won’t pick it up at my house.

Positive: Professionalism, Punctuality, Quality, Responsiveness, Value I had 2 companies turn down the job, and 1 come out to say that they could not turn off the water to the unit or building in order to replace the ancient Sloan Flushometer from wall to toilet. I then called Queen City Plumbing; Fernando came out on time, gave a reasonable estimate and found the correct water shutoff in the crawl space despite what the other company had said, and successfully replaced a mid-century flushometer completely with a new one with no issues. Very professional and reasonable. Would recommend. Service: Repair toilet
