About
BH Lawnscape Inc. is not considered one of the “big” landscape companies in this area and it will never be. I know all of my customers and they all know me, I never want that to change. I love that Mrs. M knows the cutting crew by name and that they will be at her house Tuesday morning at 11am. She leaves a pitcher of ice water out on the backyard picnic table for them every week and I never want that to change. Change into a crew running from property to the next with no time to say hello or to do a little something extra that Mrs. M needs done this week. Something a big company has no time for.
After 35+ years experience of being a landscape company owner and a company laborer I’ve learned how to get the job done right. When my customer says wow! or I can’t believe it! the job was done correctly.
We take pride in our work and do whatever our customers ask of us with a smile.They I take before and after pictures of all our landscape work because I love to see the expressions on our customers faces when they keep saying wow!
We’re not the biggest but we’re the ones that will listen to you to find out what you like and turn your idea into a reality at a fair price.
You can see our work and us at www.bhlawnscape.com. I hope you’ll take a moment and visit our website.
They say if you love what you do it doesn’t seem like work. Well, I love what I do but landscaping is work no matter how much you love it! But, being a part of a team working towards a goal does make those rough days a little easier! I think pride pushes us. My team likes to feel proud of what we accomplished at the end of the day.
We guarantee all of our work because we do a great job from beginning to end and that works out great. We also guarantee you as a customer will always be greeted with a smile and respect every time we’re doing business.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When we begin work with a new customer, I like to get a feel for their taste, likes and dislikes. So, I ask them questions like “What’s your favorite Flowers & Colors, Do you have any pets or children? All of my basic questions add up to being a great landscape. If they say they have a dog I try to find out without them even knowing if it’s a dog that digs up the ground or do their children play soccer on the lawn or not. Even though I’m just chit-chatting I’m putting together the perfect landscape design just for them. I know of other landscape companies which use the same exact plants at every landscape job they get. It’s boring! I like my landscapes to sing out loud not snore.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Besides Rutgers, Rockland Community College and the University of Hawaii for my education in Landscape Design, Plant Identification, Agronomics and Horticulture, I have been going to school everyday out in the field. Everyday I learn more and more about nature, designing, machinery and people. I also possess a New York State Pesticide License (3A) Turf & Ornamentals.
35 years is a long time to do anything but when it’s your everything it drives and strives you to learn more.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
At BH Lawnscape Inc, I the owner do the estimates mainly myself. This way I know the price is correct and all the steps are included. I base the work off of man hours and materials but 99.9% of our project prices are just a flat fee.
BH Lawnscape Inc’s prices are lower by $10 - $20 per man hour than our competitors. We charge $35.00 per man hour for most jobs which includes manual labor while other companies are charging up from $40-$60 per man hour.
We charge more for tree pruning @ $40 pmh and irrigation repairs also at $40 per man hour. And if you ask any of our existing or even past customers we are always at work.
On Property Maintenance Agreements we offer 10% off the price if paid in full. I have several customers who do this because they save money and don’t have to think about a bill coming at the end of every month. And it helps me as I get to buy materials I’ll use during the course of the year on sale during the winter months.
We Invoice our customers and they can pay right from the invoice with a debit or credit card or send a check in the mail.
How did you get started in this business?
I personally got started in the green industry at the age of 17 and it’s been my calling ever since. I started with an automated lawncare company called the Lawn Ranger. They taught me all about weeds, fertilizers, insecticides and the different types of grasses. I also learned how to diagnose turf and plant diseases.
Being a landscaper isn’t a glamorous life but I wouldn’t want it any other way!
What types of customers have you worked with?
i have customers I’ve never personally met and have hired me from a far to take care of a property they have in the area;
Customers who I see weekly and know my wife and daughter;
Customers who are famous, Customers who leave the crews ice water 10 minutes before they’re supposed to be there, and loyal customers who trust because they know they can.
I also have other customers as every business does.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Do you have the time to do my project and see it through?
Will you be available for me to contact with questions or concerns?
Is this the entire price I’ll be paying or are there hidden fees?🐀🐀
