Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Typically our process starts with an interview of the customer to best gage their needs and desires for their garden or yard. We then will sketch plans and with a customers approval will will continue and bring them a digital rendition of the finished design before starting the actual work. We find that once the digital has been displayed any anxiety on the design has been lifted from the customer
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
i have completed RHS horticultural and NYBG programs. We have a staff trained and certified in phases of masonary, irrigation, and great partners for electrical. Our store staff is also Master Nursery and Proven Winners trained.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
pricing will vary depending on the job. Our customers are given all prices on Nursery stock and hardscape materials before any job is started and are always presented options.
How did you get started in this business?
My dad started in the industry in the 70's and my mother is a passionate gardener. I got the family bug and have been involved since I could walk.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with everyone from every demographic.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
Favorite project from last season was a native perennial garden on a small plot in Long Beach. The home owner loved to be in her garden and wanted native plants that would cultivate the native pollinators on Long Island. I'm truly excited for an upcoming Living Wall installation. These projects are always out of the norm so it's fun to try something different.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Always get an established design and build company with a good reputation. You will get quality plants, a guarantee, and someone who will care about your landscape as much as you
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
what they envision in their yard. Do they want to entertain? Play area for the kids? Veggie patch or putting green? How about a spa? Their budget as it will determine what can be done.
