Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Upon initial phone conversation, a phone assessment may be able to accommodate, in place of an in-person assessment in certain circumstances. once the assessment is done an estimate is submitted to prospective clients through an invoice, once the client approves and the appointment is set, on average as soon as the very next week a deep cleaning is completed.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have spent a lifetime in the service industry, here in Guilford county serving towards homelessness prevention. In this capacity, I have acquired precise listening skills, the competence to take seemingly overwhelming tasks and make them manageable in everyday life, the aptitude to see a home, in its everyday Luster, and I am capable of process and formulating a cleaning plan immediately with maximum efficiency.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
As I am the owner I am able to price on different scales, ie.. square footage, home size, etc..; I am also, prepared to make quick allowances as Led. It is always in the potential client's best interest to schedule an in-person assessment, as a Professional, I may be able to see and maneuver a plan enabling a more budget-friendly, workable strategy ensuring both parties are in agreement with the cleaning solutions.
How did you get started in this business?
my experience with people and in my personal life, I've learned that much of that which is external, is a direct reflection of what is going on internally. to view "life" as a whole is overwhelming, and consuming, the same as managing an entire household, it's a lot. through listening to client's needs, I find that many of their requests are designed around being able to manage, and maneuver throughout their homes (comfortable space) peacefully and with ease. It is hard to do this when most people lead full and demanding lives, which is where (I) come in assisting with cleaning alleviating stress, and ensuring a job well done.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with many different households (clients), from those adults who have led established lives and are now retired, to those with full families still living at home with very small children, all households are reflections of the lives one lives.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
* (UPDATE) Almost 3 yrs into the pandemic and I have had some wonderful and some difficult tasks to complete all of which I am so very grateful for each learning experience. In a recent event, my very 1st client and her daughter (10yrs old) shared with me a self-sponsored "feeding the homeless after thanksgiving day" event, it began as a business relationship and evolved into a shared passion for helping people, so Yes absolutely I am grateful.
*After 1 year of service (through a pandemic) a client and I just realized that "we've done too" together. When I started, clients hadn't been in the home very long, and one year later, no boxes, and now the home is through an agreement bet. both parties is a home, which reflects all of the client's initial requests being rendered. this is a satisfying feeling, to know from top 2 bottom a job well done.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Most cleaning professionals have a keen eye for detail and skill for managing chaos, as potential clients " don't clean before we arrive (we always know), it helps to see a RAW project meaning a well-lived-in home allows a cleaner to see 1) what a client values every day, 2) it allows cleaners to see what is working and what isn't ie... (would home run more efficient if, cleaning strips beds, or starts a load of laundry; 3) imagine what an "IMMACULATE", home would look like, is this even possible? NO, it is not, my point, is a good cleaner can/will zone in on an area that may deserve a little more attention within a well-maintained home, ie... heating/air registers, for some reason some people not only forget how urgent it is to change filters but actually forget to clean/dust the actually grate, or baseboards, top of the blade of ceiling fans, shall I mention the dirt which gets embedded with the crevices of your light fixtures (please, take a look)
it is not my intention to devalue or discredit a cleaning request, As a cleaning professional Just the/opportunity to service your home is an honor/privilege, so I will always look for the "above & beyond", the thing I can do to set my services apart, and So please, share your request, expectations, cleaning desires, then most assuredly, I can/will deliver a completed and professional end result, and so I Thank you in advance.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
When asking for a "quote" sight unseen? As a professional, this indicates a lot of ideas 1) can I deliver a satisfactorily completed project w/o viewing first? Yes, a) will it be frustrating, Yes, even with a 15 min. assessment on the day of service, the cleaner also has to form/commit to memory a mental picture of the blue of the home, otherwise, we spend too much time walking around, trying to remember (where is this/that, which light switch goes to what, where are all trash cans, etc..) all of these and more can be planned for, assessed for pros/cons, and a plan formulated; 2)every professional has to master the art of time management, to quote sight unseen, means, a professional cannot control the worse possible narrative, ie... 12 loads of laundry thrown about the floor throughout the home, or excessive dust buildup, or a shower glass that has not been detailed in 10 yrs, these things become a hindrance in that a) a professional starts a job with the mindset of Victory (for all parties), a professional even after an in-person assessment plan/expects something to go wrong, ie.. when a client is a home, lunch needs to be prepared, bathroom time, or even work @ home clients All mean that as a professional I MUST be able to 1) allow a client to be comfortable in their home even while I am cleang, 2) I cannot stay in the home ALL DAY, making the client's HH uncomfortable, 3) I must keep to my word/promise contract of service, and all of these these are avoided as hinderances, with an simple 15 minute in home assessment and conversation, as opposed to:
how much "do I charge to clean a 3-bedroom home, that doesn't need much cleaning?
just my thoughts
