What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Discuss the problem and estimate the repair time. Notify price of service and schedule a time to repair.

Working in the computer field since 1978. Microsoft Certified Professional.

Repair service is $50/Hr. Project costs can be negotiated.
How did you get started in this business?
Saw a need over 20 years ago that people needed help with keeping their computers operating effectively. A lot of people didn't want to bring their computers into a shop. I had been doing field service work for a computer company and naturally fell into the business model.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Residential customers and small business owners make up the majority of my clients.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Be comfortable talking with them about your issues. Request references if that would make you feel better about the business.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
How much would you want to spend on an older computer. It may not be worth repairing something several generations behind in hardware or software.
