Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
I understand that each client is unique and each property distinct. Therefore, I take the time to get to know you, you goals and vision for your landscape and outdoor living space before creating a stunning 3D design with you in mind.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have been in the landscaping industry for more than 25 years and started my business in 1997 when a friend and client encouraged me to do so when he saw how meticulously I installed a paver patio, walkway and series of gardens for him. Since then, I have continuously honed my skills, talents and techniques through study and onsite development.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Every project is unique. While I have a general framework from which I draw pricing, it is almost always necessary to tweak general pricing to reflect site conditions and design specifications.
How did you get started in this business?
In high school I began offering my landscape maintenance services to estates in East Grand Rapids. In college I continued to do so, taking a short hietus to work for a landscape design/ build leader. I discovered a talent for stone work while there. After one season, I once again began offering my services independently adding hardscape installation to my repertoire. The same landscape company began hiring me as a sub contractor on their hardscape projects. Ultimately, I began designing and installing entirely on my own.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I have worked with numerous clients.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Understand not only the vision they bring to the table, but also the proficiency and care that those who install your project will bring to the perfecting of your landscape and outdoor living space. Not every crew is meticulous and skilled enough to properly install the stunning landscape design you are sold. Your outdoor living space and landscape is an investment that should last decades and will when properly installed.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
