About
The parts of the job that make me excited or satisfied is the fact that when the cleaning has been completed it really makes me know that the family will be in a clean, healthy environment. It satisfies me to know that I have done the best job that I could do for my customers.
I am a people person and I can get along with just about anyone. This is one reason why I am in this industry because I have met a lot of great families over the years. I enjoy cleaning for the customer if they're there while I am cleaning we can hold a conversation and I love her people to get to know me. If in the event that I don't get the opportunity to meet the family that is okay too I have learned to deal with different situations. I have worked with disabled people, I have worked with working families, I have worked with stay at home parents. I enjoy animals as well. I have worked with multiple customers that have one or more animals including cats, dogs etc.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We establish conversation via email or telephone initially. Discuss details of the cleaning. Negotiate the specifications of the job and price. Schedule the date and time of cleaning. Payment is due the day services are rendered. The next day you will receive a call from the owner of Cleanings by Keria to discuss the cleaning in detail to address and concerns at that time if another cleaner serviced your home.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
My parents have worked in the industry since the 70's and have had there own Commercial Cleaning Business since I was a kid. I often would be taken with my parents on jobs when I was about 12 or 13. I have always liked to clean and have extreme attention to detail. In 1996 I started my own Part time Residential Cleaning Business. On and off through the years I also helped my parents run there company as they got older. There aren't any formal cleaning classes in this area that I had researched seeing in the past or present. I believe I learned from my parents and with there age a wisdom in that field I couldn't of learned from anyone better than my parents. I became a supervisor with my parents company. The past few years I decided to to take my Cleanings by Keria Full time.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I do not have standard pricing. I price the job based on the amount of work that it takes to get done. Piecing the home out by room or area can get expensive. This is why I like to have a conversation, know the square footage, number of bedrooms, bathrooms, etc ...I can negotiate on a price as well because I do not want to turn down any customer. Word of mouth is your biggest form of advertisement.
How did you get started in this business?
I started cleaning because I grew up in the industry from my parents. My parents own a Janitorial Company. My parents at one time cleaned homes but decided to stay in the Commercial Industry.
What types of customers have you worked with?
The kind of customers that I have worked with have fulltime jobs, have a large home and prefer a biweekly cleaning. However I have cleaned for families, elderly, the disabled , single people, I do not discriminate towards lgbtq community or any group or affiliation with any group. I care for all people. Elderly couples that just have a hard time cleaning anymore. I have cleaned for younger couples in love that just want to spend time together after work week instead of cleaning. I have cleaned for the family with children and animals. All have seen and have cleaned it all. I have cleaned for families that were not born and raised in the United States.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
A recent event I am fond of would be I cleaned for a family that had 2 little girls under 4. One parent was a teacher and one parent was running the family business. Well one day I had cleaned there home, they were a biweekly client of mine. I was on my way out the door. One of the parents was coming in the door with the children who had gotten sick and had to be picked up from daycare. I felt good that the house was clean for her children to come home to. I offered to go to the store and get her anything she may have needed. She had forgotten to get something for a fever for the girls and some foods for them as well. The customer took me up on the offer to get the items from the store for the children. I am fond of this experience because I was able to help my customer. Since this incident it gave me the idea to add "shopping for the customer" as a service. It then led to Cleaning by Keria to offer other services such as doing laundry while cleaning, etc.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
The advice I would give to any customer looking to hire a pro would be to at least pick 3 that stand out. Have a conversation or some type of interaction with them to feel them out. Get references to confirm why they or may not be a good fit. Ask questions
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
The questions one would ask a cleaning business owner would be
1. Who will be cleaning my home?
2. How would we set up entry to the home if the customer is not there at the time of cleaning?
3. Is the company insured and bonded?
4. What is the cancellation policy?
5. What supplies does the cleaning company provide? What supplies does the customer provide?
6. What about animals in the home? Are there any specific precautions to take with the pet?
7. Any other questions that may be specific to your home.
