Who installs doors?

Several types of professionals install doors, including handypersons, carpenters, general contractors, and door installation companies. For straightforward replacements or installations that don't require any structural work, a handyman may offer better hourly rates. For more complex projects, spend the extra money to hire an experienced pro with more specialized expertise.

How do I choose a door installation company near me?

Installing a door correctly requires precision and skill. Follow these guidelines when searching for a local door installation company:

  • Check out their reviews on HomeGuide and Google.
  • Choose a licensed, insured, and bonded company with a several year track record of installations in your area.
  • Ask for an in-person estimate so they can see the space and factor in any unique requirements to give you an accurate quote.
  • Get 3+ estimates with similar details to compare.
  • Request a list of references you can contact.
  • Get a detailed contract and warranty in hand before the installation starts.
  • Never pay in cash and don't make the final payment before the job is complete.

What questions should I ask when searching for a door installer?

Asking the right questions can help you select the best and most qualified installer:

  • Is the company licensed, bonded, and insured?
  • How long have you been installing doors in this area?
  • Can you provide a free in-person estimate?
  • Will you give me a detailed breakdown of what the estimate includes?
  • What door material do you recommend for this space, and why?
  • How long do you estimate it'll take to install?
  • What additional costs should I expect?
  • Do you guarantee your work?

Mr. M.
I just wanted to extend my sincerest satisfaction to your company. From the beginning, your manager John provided an awesome demonstration of the quality windows you provide. The Capital Remodeling Inc. installers were superb and very prompt. They installed 8 windows in my residence on time and the quality of the workmanship they provided significantly enhanced my house. Lastly, the follow up courtesy call was very considerate and helpful. She ensured I had no issues with any aspect of the job and the quality of the windows. Again, please accept my deepest appreciation for a job well done to your employees. Great job Capital Remodeling Inc.

First, let me say I am a contractor and have been in the construction and remodeling business for 30+years. I recognize good work when I see it. I purchased a house in Montgomery County and needed a re-key done because the previous owner had renters. I checked and went with Anariz’s because his experience was good and his price was one of the best. Performance-Anthony came out on time for our appointment , and after a short discussion of my requirements, he went to work. He was very fast and has precision techniques. He even made great recommendations to details I didn’t think of. When he finished (unexpectedly fast), all locks were exactly the way I wanted them, and all new keys worked smoothly with no sticking or fumbling. I would hire this guy anytime for anything related to locks and re-keys! Very precise and thorough.

They’re transparent about any learning opportunities they’ve had from their past and work with you to make sure that there are no barriers to getting the work done that you actually need.
