We go to the home, meet with the client find out what needs to be done and the clients needs. Then we bid the work and send them the proposal or meet to explain the proposal.

Make sure they are insured, make sure they take time to explain everything they will and will not be doing, and that the price is very clear, see if the city knows the contractor.

What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?

How busy are the contractors, what about extras? how do they handle them, if time and material is there a cap on how high it might go.
