Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
My process is unique to the name of my business. When I say personal, I mean personal. The first thing I do is establish trust with my customer. I know they want to feel good about the service they are purchasing and it's my job to make that happen. Secondly, it is important to identify my customers needs by asking questions regarding the work they would like done. I need to know the what, when, where, and how of everything so I do this by anticipating there questions and concers. Converstation is what allows this to be possible. Let's get the most of it, and openly communicate. I also do sketches. I will make your perceptions and visions a reality. If you are simply unsure, I will draw out one of the million ideas that will hit my head when I see your landscape. This is a very fun part of the job..lets get creative!
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have worked for three different park districts in charge of the horticulture aspects involved such as beds around the signs, weed removal, tree planting, etc. After this I worked for a wonderful Landscaping company called Blumen Garden in Sycamore IL. I learned alot here about customer satisfaction, and the standard to stand by. Every winter over these years, I have been employed doing snow removal whether its operating a bobcat, plow, or just a shovel and some salt. Lets get the job done!
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
For my Landscaping jobs, I like to do a walk around your property to visually compute the time I will need to complete the job. I will then multiply this number of hours by my hourly rate, which is something we will discuss at our initial meeting.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
I knew I wanted to work outside when I took my first job at the Rockford Park Distirct in charge of the grounds at Alpine Park. After that I took a interest in horticulture and Landscaping. My employment history has been focused on that ever since.
What types of customers have you worked with?
I work with all types of customers. We are all people and have the same basic needs as far as maintaining our homes.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
I am very fond of my last landscaping job of 2016. I was able to identify what the cusomer wanted, and took those needs to draw up a number of sketches until we found what we wanted. The drawing, and the final result of my work at their house are an exact match. This was rewarding in many ways for me.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
I would advise the customer to just use their basic intution, and identify the service providers who have one thing in mind, your satisfaction as a customer.
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
Customers should talk with other members of their household to be sure everyone is on board about what the disired outcome is. I run into it all the time, when a husband and wife is in disagreement at the very moment of service. By discussing this early on, we can avoid this.
