Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
An onsite consultation is always our first step in a proposal process. If a Client has an existing design and proposal that they are comparing others to, we are more than happy to help the Client understand the differences in the other proposals. After the original consultation, Dogwood will prepare an accurate proposal for the Client to review and discuss and questions or options they may have. Typically, within 7-10 business days, Dogwood is onsite with the Client starting the work agreed to perform.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
ICPI - Interlocking Concrete and Pavestone Institute Certified Paver Installer
NCMA - National Concrete and Masonry Association Certified Segmental Retaining Wall Installer
Belgard Authorized Contractor, Gold Level - Over 100,000 square feet of concrete paver and retaining wall installation, inspected at different phases of installation, to insure quality and knowledge.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Dogwood is as transparent as possible with all materials and labor pricing. Every job is different, has different elevations, access issues and overall staging needs. Each of these is evaluated prior to starting the job, and priced accordingly.
How did you get started in this business?
In 1997 Jason Cory started mowing lawns as a way to make extra income during college at Kennesaw State University. Shortly after graduating from KSU and working in the Finance Industry, Jason started J's Landscaping, that grew into Dogwood Landscaping in May of 2005.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Residential, Commercial, Apartment Associations, Banking Institutions
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Do your homework in PERSON, online reviews can be manipulated or falsified. You really need to meet with and determine the person you can trust! You are putting your hard earned money into the hands of someone, you have to KNOW them.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Is this person/company REALLY a legitimate contractor? The landscape and hardscape industry is not regulated. Anyone, can buy and truck and trailer, advertise on the internet or their vehicle, and make themselves seem to be legit. Do your homework, ask them for specific work referrals, then most importantly, call and VISIT the jobs.
