Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We contact the client, and learn a little bit about their project. Then, we coordinate a time to consult onsite. We then send a detailed, itemized estimate via email. When the client is ready to proceed, we schedule their job. The whole process usually takes less than 2 weeks, from contact, to completion.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
On our staff, we have a FNGLA Certified Horticulture Professional, and we are currently in the process of obtaining the ISA Arborist Certification, along with ongoing local trainings, industry workshops, and education opportunities at statewide trade shows. We also are members of the Manatee County Rare Fruit Council. We take every opportunity we can to gain more education, and be highly knowledgeable in our field.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your service? If so, please share the details here.
Every tree is different. We can quote most palm trees over the phone, or by email, but hardwood trees need to be assessed in person. We can also do full property cleanups at a day rate. Keep an eye out for our promotions and specials on Angie's List.
How did you get started doing this type of work?
The entrepreneurial spirit runs strong with us. Kary (the owner) has owned several businesses throughout our community, and wanted to have a business which would allow him to be in touch with the outdoors. Caring for trees, and creating beautiful landscapes seemed like a great fit.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with property owners, homeowner associations, housing authorities, property managers, realtors, restoration companies, insurance companies, and concierge services. We even work with 'snowbirds' who need their trees tended to while they're up north, complete with 'before and after' pictures.
Describe a recent project you are fond of. How long did it take?
After a tornado ripped through one of our local neighborhoods, we were able to give many people piece of mind. We provided fast responses, quick work, and reasonable prices. We removed trees from all over their properties (including several limbs on, or in their homes). Knowing that we could help many residents after such a traumatic event was very fulfilling to us.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a provider in your area of work?
Be sure to get to know what their capabilities are. Look at their reviews, and see what other clients feel about the services they provide. See how their ideas may differ from others in their field. One way we differ, is we can take a job that would involve dangerous climbing, and debris that could potentially damage a hourse, taking several days to complete.....and use a crane to safely remove the tree, in a matter of hours. Convenience and safety are KEY!
What questions should customers think through before talking to professionals about their project?
They should be sure that they have a realistic budget. Trees are dangerous, and create a lot of debris. When they're trimmed by a professional service, that service has to pay for their staff, insurance, equipment, and disposal of all of that debris. A good service is not always the cheapest. You can have anybody show up with a polesaw and a pickup truck. You could also pay for the professional service that will have to fix their mistakes, and finish the job for them. Do it right the first time!
