About
One time calls or contracted maintenance, I provide quality lawn care, landscaping and pressure washing at a reasonable price. I treat each client as if you were my only one and provide a number of other home and yard care services.
Being raised on cattle and horse ranches and being a former Park Ranger as well as working all aspects of site and home construction, I bring 40 years of experience and dependability to each job.
When in doubt, give a shout I can probably help.
I was born and raised in Florida and apart from living on a cattle ranch in Canada for eight years, this has been home, 30 years in this home in Niceville. Most of my life has been spent outdoors, long hours on horse back riding herd, choking hay dust half the summer or years choking dirt sitting top a loader or bulldozer, wading through swamps in four states chainsaw in hand, water well drilling in these three counties for several years and eight and a half years at two Florida State Parks.
When work is done it's time to fish, hunt, hike, bike, motorbike, garden, play with the dogs... you see the trend here.
My native roots (Mohawk - Abenaki) keep me, an insignificant part of the circle of life, grounded to the earth, always trying to strengthen my bond to the natural world while having to live and work in the modern secular world.
Allowing me to come work in your little piece of Florida lets me stay where I need to be, outdoors, one with nature and... lets me come home and eat a hot meal in an air conditioned house.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
When ever possible I like to meet face to face with a potential client at the jobsite, communication by phone and email are fine if you can't make a meeting, pictures and video can be used instead. Estimates for simple, one time mowing, pressure washing or maintenance can usually be quoted onsite, more complicated clearing, landscaping or contracted maintenance services will have to calculated and usually takes 24 to 72 hours for an email or phone quote. Work can usually be scheduled within 5 to 7 days.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
When you grow up on farms or ranches you learn to do everthing that needs doing. As far as cutting grass, I've cut 20 acres a day for days on end before. My first paying job away from the ranch was yard care for some elderly folks in our township and my last job was eight and half years as a Park Ranger, groundskeeping being a large part of the job at Henderson Beach and Rocky Bayou State Parks. In between I logged, drilled wells and repaired pumps for irrigation, maintained lift pump stations for Okaloosa County, worked at Western Feed & Seed for three years and did 13 years of site prep work for construction and erosion control. All of these fields have given me more than enough experience and knowledge to confidently handle any number of property care concerns. If by chance you do stump me, living in ths spot for 30 years and having gone to school here affords me a huge personal network of professionals to consult when in doubt. If all else fails, all the information on the planet is a series of clicks away, give me a couple days and I'm sure I or someone in my network will be able to help.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Each and every job is tailored to the customer's needs. I look at many factors when I quote a job, time on job, equipment to be used, wear and tear on equipment (SAND), and, wear and tear on Chuk (POISON IVY, POISON OAK, ROOTS, VINES, SKEETERS, SCORPIONS, DOG POOP, etc.)
Most jobs are based on $30/hr for hand work, $50-$75/hr for work with equipment.
I have maintenance contracts that run from $75/mo to $250/mo.
Hauling materials to or from jobs will vary in price by distance and fuel prices.
What types of customers have you worked with?
As a Park Ranger and having worked retail several times, I have worked with every type of customer (and employee) imaginable and 27 that defied imagination.

What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure they are licensed and insured. Pick someone you feel comfortable with so that it's easy to communicate your needs and concerns about the work.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What's included and what isn't, with contracted maintenance make sure everything agreed upon is in the contract.
Make a list of your needs, take a couple days if you need to. It's hard to remember everthing when you are on the spot with a stranger. (Mind you, some landscapers are stranger than others)
Ask any and all questions you have, if the contractor acts like your question isn't valid or reasonable thank them for their time and call someone else, the only dumb question is the one you don't ask.
