Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Most customers meet us at our office and showroom in historic Sanford, FL. The consultations are free and we can go over ideas and what you want in a new home.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Janine Hoskins has a Masters in Architecture and is an International Associate with the AIA. Janine and her team have been designing high end homes for over ten years.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
Each home is different. We normally charge $3.00 a sqft including engineering. This will get you a complete plan for building your home.
What types of customers have you worked with?
A lot of the homes we have done are family homes and vacation homes ranging from 3000 sqft to 40,000 sqft. Customers range from families building their first home to builders who build thousands of homes a year.
Describe a recent event you are fond of.
The Parade of Homes is a great way to look at the stars of the industry.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Look at many different peoples work. Make sure you fit with the designers look and personality. Deal direct with the person designing your home. A lot of big name companies will put you with new designers with little experience. Dealing with a smaller company gives you that personal touch that seems to be missing in so many companies.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Meet with a home designer first. Many builders will add on to the cost of the design. If you have the plan then you can bid it out with many builders and get the best price.
If you own the land we will need a survey of the property.
Take pictures of homes you like. Look at sites like Pinterest and Houzz to see what you want.
Think about your style, wish list, must haves and what you like to do. Do you like to entertain? Which rooms do you spend the most time? It is Florida so do you have a lot of out of town guests?
