Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
We understand that most of our first time customers have never experianced what they are going through now, such as a flood, fire, bio hazard emergency. We will dispatch immediately and response is key. We will walk them through the plan on taking care of their emergency and we are open to quesitons at anytime. We will also work with their insurance company saving them a great deal of time.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
We are certified by the IICRC for the work that we do. We are licenced for mold remediation and permitted for bio hazard remediation and removal.
Training is important to us and we stay up to date on anything new.
Safety is number one.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
All pricing is done through a national software called Xactimate. This program prices by zip code and is used by insurance companies. Most of the pricing is by Square Foot or per day on whatever task is being performed.
How did you get started in this business?
Wayne bought his first Florida home in 1996 and shortly after he woke up to two inches of water in his home caused by a copper pipe leak. Not knowing what to do he called his insuracne company who sent out a remediation company that took horrible care of him. He always remembed how there was a lack of communication, and he remembers how he was treated poorly by this comany. Years later when he decided to open a business, he came across the PuroClean brand and knew he could treat customers better than he was treated. Starting in 2007 he was an instant success. When asked why and how... his response was "Do what you say you're going to do and show up when you say you're going to show up, be honest and communicate" thats what worked for him.
What types of customers have you worked with?
We have worked with many residential and commercial customers. Anything from flooded homes to flooded hotels. Houses that were hit with lightning to fires caused by children playing with lighters. Kitchen fires are mostly caused when homeowners get distracted by a phone call from an old friend to neighbors knocking at the door. Multi tasking can get out of control causing some of these floods and fires. We handle the clean up of suicides (A very sad part of our job) and crime scenes. We clean up after natural deaths. People pass away in homes all the time and sometimes are not found in a while. We take care of all of this. We also clean up Meth Labs and Grow labs found by the police.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
Several come to mind. We had a customer who was on a cruise ship, the neighbor saw their driveway wet on a beautiful day and investigated. This was right before Christmas and their tree had already been set up. A pipe broke flooding the entire home, water coming out of the garage. We worked hard to get them back to normal and had it dried and back to normal just before Christmas eve. When they came home they couldn't tell the place was ever flooded and were stunned by the pictures we took. That gave us a great feeling of accomplishment. They had a great Christmas.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Any company can learn how to do this business. It's a service not a product. The difference is the customer service, the attention to detail, the knowing how to work with the insurance companies, using the same software they do. If it's a mold job, be sure they are licensed to do mold. The communication on everything thats going on. Sometimes we have five phone calls we have to make daily to update people on the job, Tenant, homeowner, property manager, insurance agent and insurance adjuster. We take pride in what we do and we love to help people. We also understand what our customers are going through. Use someone with an A+ at the BBB or check their reviews on line.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
In a stressful moment such as a flood, fire, bio hazard emergency most of the time homeowners are not thinking clearly, sometimes they are still in a state of shock. The best question to ask is How fast can you respond and how can you get us through this difficult time? Do you work well with insurance companies?
