    Frequently asked questions

Touch Base and Pre-qualify, For a construction process its very important to know you will be working with like minded people. You can usually tell who will be a good person to partner with in the long-haul by dealing with them a few times over the phone and an in-person meeting.

Ozzy has studied Construction since He was 16 Years Old, and has a Masters Degree in it from His Home country. Afterwards Studying for His General Contractors License, with bi-yearly continued education and experience working hands on as well as being the Chief Field Engineer for a company that was building High Rises in Downtown Miami. He has participated in every spectrum of Construction from the smallest Toilet Replacement to Managing projects with values of Tens of Millions of Dollars.

We have a standard pricing system for certain things such as the interior Finishes - Those can typically be priced per square foot, but also depend on the quality of finish the client is expecting. Some people expect Pristine Quality and are willing to pay for it, others would like the middle of the line and are happy with that.

An Example to be given is this - 24x48 Rectified Porcelain Tile with Rough Materials and Delivery costs ~ $6.50/SF

Level 5 Interior Smooth Finish (Spotless) w/ Materials

    ~ 5.00/SF

The company was started when Ozzy knew He couldnt sleep on his laurels - As He was working as the Chief Field Engineer for Moss and Associates back in 2007, He was also studying to become a General Contractor and passed All His exams and received His License. Suddenly when the Crash Came in 2008 He was retained for 6months before He was finally let go, this was after 80% of the Company was already gone. This didnt deter Him, so within a week of Losing His Job, Because of His experience working in all types of construction He had a Hands-on Contract of $10,000.

We've worked with all kinds of customers, but more importantly we are beginning to be more selective with the people we work with. We find that the most succesful projects are completed with individuals who are willing to invest their money and understand that quality has a cost. We do not take Contracts where the Owners priority is to save the greatest amount of money as possible, even at the expense of the quality of the product - We believe it will give us a bad reputation if we even attempt to perform for this type of client.

We are fond of an experience with a client that we met recently, it was a Husband and His Wife - we haven't signed a contract, and nothing is set in stone but the meeting was just so enjoyable. The gentleman had experience in construction but was so humble, and the wife had an entire package full of the look that they liked. They knew what they wanted and they understood that the quality they wanted had a cost. If every client that we met with was as kind and prepared as they were our lives as Builders and Contractors would be exponentially more enjoyable.

When Hiring a pro in our area of expertise it is very important firstly to make sure they are an established company, Have Liability Insurance, and a positive track record of completing the projects. Make sure you have a contract signed and scope them out to make sure everything matches up before giving them a deposit. Also, don't go with the cheapest price - EVER. Even as General Contractors we have made this mistake and have payed dearly for it. Always remember that Quality has a cost.

The most important questions that a Customer can ask are the ones they ask themselves. What do you want to get done? Do you have a budget in mind? Is it realistic? Do you have examples of what you want it to look like - its important for the client to remember that the greater amount of information they can clearly communicate to the contractor the easier they will make it for them to respond with a clear answer. Now for the questions to ask a Contractor - Do you specialize in this type of Scope of Work?

Remodel, New Construction, Renovation, Addition, Kitchen, Flooring, Bath etc.

    - Contractors have different Niche Markets.

What is a good Range in price for what this project could cost me?

How long have you been involved in Construction for?

Whats the best steps to take to get this project rolling?

Be Ready for this Questions from the Contractor

    Where is your project located?

    Do you have any plans?

Do you have a budget in Mind?

If you're building a New Home - Do you have the Lot?

    What style do you like?

If its New Construction or you're adding any bedrooms - Do you have Septic or Sewer?

When do you want to start this project?

Example - If you want to start building your House in January then you better start working on the plans in March of the Previous Year - Limit the changes you make to the plans and start preparing a package of the finishes you would like to have for the House.

Construction is a very long process, and you must be diligent in order to get this done on time and on budget - The length of a project is dependent just as much on the Owner as it is the contractor. Make sure you have every detail - if not 85% Set before you start building.
