Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Professional computer diagnosis requires proper equipment, software and many years of experience. We ask that customers bring their Mac or PC to our store. The diagnostic work is free of charge, as is the estimate. We offer 24 hour turn around time in almost all cases.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Masters Degree in Technology and decades of experience.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
We never charge by the hour because a customer has no control over cost. We always offer an exact price upfront and we never take money (not even a deposit) until work is finished and client is satisfied with work.
How did you get started in this business?
I am a former technology teacher (DeVry University and The Art Institute of Fort Lauderdale). My son, Julian, graduated from school five years ago and we decided to open this business together. This September (2017) will be our 5th year anniversary.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Individuals and businesses combined.
Describe a recent project you are fond of.
We custom build laptops and desktops. We put together a desktop computer for a video editor. The desktop contained six 8TB hard drives, driven by a 1TB SSD as the primary drive. This computer had a i7 8-core processor (water cooled), 64GB of RAM and a whopping 48TB of total storage.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Reputation, Reputation, Reputation. Look for Google reviews - Google is excellent at monitoring reviews to keep everyone honest. Google only allows 1 review per IP address.
Also, a computer in the wrong hands can compromise a customer. Only my son and I have access to client computers...no one else. We employ high secuirty, including unbreakable front windows (polycarbonate) and a large fire-proof safe to store data over night.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Years in business; a solid retail location in a reputable shopping area; Google reviews.
