What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
There are no stupid questions, ask questions early and often, keep asking questions. Find someone that you feel comfortable working with and trust. Price and budget is always an important consideration but so is a knowledgeable designer and construction supervisor that can add great value.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
Think about their basic design style likes, their uses of the space, and budget. Keep it simple at the start. A good designer will cause you to think of things in a different way or perhaps you never thought of during the initial discussion.
