A Touch Of Golden Class
About
Hi my name is Kathy, with A Touch Of Golden Class. I have been breeding and training puppies/dogs since 2000. In 2013 due to an accident. I had to endure a major brain surgery. Before getting discharged from the hospital. I was told that a service dog, would be of great value in continuing my recovery. Understanding the value of this my daughter Caitlin began researching service dogs. Caitlin started to understand, you can't just train one. You have to teach both. How to understand and communicate with each other. In order to have a partnership. Caitlin stepping up, took ahold of my hand and started the training process. Caitlin definitely understood, we had quite a long road ahead of us. First and foremost I had to get to know my new puppy. As well as the puppy had to get to know me. She referred to us as, her first service companions. Since then we now can offer training of services dogs. We can train dogs to do specific tasks. That specialize in helping people with disabilities. Whether it be help with balance. Or help with knowing the warning signs of a seizures. We treat this with a high respect for being an advocate for your dog. We do an evaluation to determine the needs and capabilities of your dog. Our goal is helping clients and dogs. It is not to sell dog training. It is a very personal event allowing a new person to get close into your dogs life. We treat that opportunity with great respect. Our focus is to teach you how to get your dog ready for the real world. So that your dog fits your lifestyle, weather it's puppy training or training to become a service dog.
Definitely one of my favorite parts of my job. Our number one goal is to teach our clients and their companions to have the best relationship possible. We love seeing the relationship between our clients and their companions become a strong working relationship. Once a strong working relationship anything is possible once we have that. I know personally how strong this relationship is and it can't be broken.
