As a business owner I had to prepare my self to become one. I worked on the field for 7 years learned how to do all the physical work and then I started getting mentored by dirt monkey university on all the paper work, and other strategies.

No. Pricing for projects will vary and that it because each and every house has different shapes, slopes, ground conditions and access difficulties

As a customer you should always ask questions like.

Do you have experience in projects like this?
Have you ever been sued?
Has ever anything gone wrong with your projects? And how did you fix it?
Some Contractors dont like to be questioned and most of the time the reason they dont like it, it is because they dont have an answer. And if you want to hire the contractor you would want to know at least a little bit about them.
