PC Pros
About
My experience level surpasses most technicians I've met, as I've been working on computers since Commodore 64 days. In addition, my ability to communicate computer issues and solutions in ways that everyone can understand seems to be a unique trait. I'm professional, and down to earth. I like to keep things simple.
Ever since I was a child, my parents told me I communicate with computers better than I do with people. The communications skills for people had to be developed later, haha! I have a knack for computers. My wife says I have a magic touch, and all computers seem to listen to me. I love it. I love making computers run the way they are supposed to for everyone, if not better. I take pride in the performance computers offer once I'm done with the work.

Frequently asked questions
What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Ask a lot of questions. Sometimes understanding the problem better is the key to providing the right solution for a customer.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Certifications:
A+, NET+, MOUS Microsoft Office Expert Level, MCSE, Security+.
Education:
Bachelors in Computer System Security, Masters of Science in Management (MSM), Masters of Business in Management / govt specialization (MBA)
Experience:
Navy Electronics Tech (1997-2001). Worked at HP as a technician for a floor of 360 computers used for engineering firmware for HP Laserjet printers (in 2001). Became HP DesignJet certified. Worked at Tech For Less from 2001-2013 in customer service / sales as the lead technical salesperson. Owned PC Pros since 2011.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
I have a couple different pricing models, depending on which works best for the customer. One is an ongoing monthly fee to cover all service calls that can be resolved remotely (works best for self employed or businesses that want a full time support tech), or I charge by the hour for on-site service.
How did you get started in this business?
I have been working on computers since 1986, as a child it was my #1 hobby. I remember toting around that portable Commodore 64 to my grandmas house back in the day. As I got older, my dad had a IBM Leopard SLC 286 computer I messed with quite a bit. While he was going to college, I'd tear it apart while he was at work. When he got home, it needed to be in working order, so I got really good at quickly determining issues and fixing them to help my dad meet homework deadlines.
What types of customers have you worked with?
Home users, small and medium businesses as well as working on teams in large corporations. I have many dentist, periodontics, physician, and real estate clients. My business in construction clients is also ramping up. I've been able to help elderly use their computers more effectively and efficiently as well.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Make sure you're hiring a technician that will come do the work, not a technician that's become a manager of high school kids that do the work instead. Certifications of that technician are key, as well as experience, and education. Just because someone has a degree doesn't mean they have the real world experience to take care of your issue efficiently and professionally. I'm happy to help!
