We also believe that there are fundamental responsibilities that all of our designs must address. WORD champions a socially inclusive, publicly accessible, humanitarian and sustainable architecture. What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Communication is key. We carefully work with you to figure out all of your needs and then outline the working process with you. The construction process can be convoluted, so we do our absolute best to educate you about it and then walk step by step with you through the process. We will be your architect and designer, but also your advocate.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
I have personally been practicing architecture in California for twenty years. I taught architecture at USC for seven years, am a member of the AIA, and have received numerous design awards for both residential and commercial work. Recently, I was named as an 'emerging talent' by the Monterey Design Conference, and as a 'Design Vanguard' by Architectural Record magazine, one of North America's pre-eminent architecture and design publications.
Do you have a standard pricing system for your services? If so, please share the details here.
It varies by project, but our fees typically range between 10%-15% of the expected construction cost of a project, but are negotiable along with the scope of work. That said, remember that we'll be with you for the duration of design, permitting AND construction - overseeing everything.
