What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Getting to know my clients computer and their needs are are very important. So whether I am working remotely or in person I will evaluate their computer(s) and ask what problems that they experiencing, How often they work on the computer, ask about online usage, and how they backup if at all. Evaluation is key to not only to correcting any issues, but to ensure it does not repeat. I do give options in almost every case.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Experience Experience Experience. There isnt much I have seen or dealt with. I get calls when they need "legacy" support. That means I can work with older programs that some require to work. But I also keep up to date with the latest operating system and updates. Dont believe everything you hear. Many call me after getting false information from another consultant and I prove them wrong. Not always but in many cases.

I change $150 an hour unless we work out a flat rate
How did you get started in this business?
Went to school in electronics and my first job was with a high tech computer company. I started helping friends on the side and became very good at troublshooting. Started the business in 1989.
What types of customers have you worked with?
All types. Home offices, Big companies medium sized and small Business's. Law offices, Point of sale, Warehouse, Doctors office, Dental practices.
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
Ask questions about their experience. Explain your problem. Ask what possibly could be happening? Are there more than one possiblilty? Does it sound correct? Most people can detect BS when they hear it.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What is the work worth to you. If I said my charge just for going out to your location is $xxx including parts. Does the price sound reasonable?
