What is your typical process for working with a new customer?
Arrange a time to meet with potential client to discuss clients desires and inspect the project / jobsite to give a proper quote on the work desired by the client.
What education and/or training do you have that relates to your work?
Licensed C-27 landscape contractor for over 25 years.
Attended UC Riverside , Orange Coast college in Orange County, Calif. and Long Beach City College in Long Beach, Calif. and studied Ornamental Horticulture courses in plant ID, pest management, weed ID, irigation technology, and landscape design.
Attended Univ. Calf. Riverside extension and studied turfgrass management, arborculture, and pest mgt.
Currently I am compleating my certification process for Qwel ( Qualified Water Efficient Landscaper ) and CWM ( Certified Waytert Manager ) Sponsored By Metropolatian Water District and the California Landscape Contractors Association.

How did you get started in this business?
AS a youngster back in central Ohio I learned my basic work ethic skills from my uncle who was aconstruction truck driver and from working with various independent contractor's that were family friends.
Here in Calif. I started cutting lawns part time in Long Beach, Calif. then after approx. 5 years doing lawn maintenance for a roperty mgt. and private home owners, decided to obtain my state contractor's license.

All types... Young adults, middle age college type,home owner associations, retired folks, various language folks,wealthy celeberties, tight budget clients, out-of-state clients

NorCal landscape expo. in San Mateo, Calif. ths past spring.
I learned about what is new and trending within our ' Green Industry ' BY going to this event I am able to stay on the cutting edge for my clients
What advice would you give a customer looking to hire a pro in your area of expertise?
LIsten to what they tell you, what they can or cannot do and ask a lot of questions concening the process they would suggest in taking care of your concerns/needs.
What questions should customers think through before talking to pros about their needs?
What is their actual budget and if it is realistic for the work they want completed.
