Frequently asked questions

The customer tells what there problem is. Usually I can give a quote immediatly. Some calls require me to see the computer and determine the problem.

I have a 2 year degree from a technical college in electronics repair.

I have over 25 years of experience in information technology.

My time is $75 an hour. After one hour my time is billed in 20 minute segments.

I went to electronics school and graduated with degree in electronics. I decided to pursue computer repair and I have been learning as computer technology has been changing over the last 25 years.

I work with business's home business's and home residential computer repair customers.

Someone called me with a dead laptop. We discussed the cost of fixing the old laptop. The customer decided it would be better to buy a new laptop. I removed the hard drive from the dead laptop and copied all the data to an external hard drive. The customer asked for recommendations on a new laptop. Since they were pretty handy with computers they purchased the new laptop and copied their data to the new PC. I could have purchased the new PC and copied the data to new PC if they needed it.

It's hard to pick someone since everyone says their competent and most people usually have some good reviews. Asking how long they have been doing their job can be helpful.

Sometimes repairs cost enough money that a new PC could be a better choice. If cost $300 to fix a five year old PC and $500 for a new PC. The new PC is more expensive but it is unlikely to need major repairs for years. The five year old PC could have other expensive problems within a year or two so it's a gamble to fix the old PC.
